I start this inaugural review of Stanislaus county dog parks by reviewing the park closest to the Open House Real Estate, Inc. office. The dog park is called Oakdale Dog park and it is located on Crane Street just off hwy 108 as you enter Oakdale coming from Riverbank. This park is ideal because it offers large expanses of grass for dogs to run in, and vehicle traffic is lighter on Crane Street and Greger Street which border the park. The free running areas are enclosed, so the dogs cannot run into danger. There are clear posted signs which spell out the rules for using the park. As well, plastic bags are available to assist responsible dog owners with cleanup.
Geographically, the Oakdale dog park is easily accessible (10 minutes or less by car) to inhabitants of Oakdale, Riverbank and northeast Modesto.
The park has separate fenced areas for dogs of varying sizes, and the owners have been largely responsible and cooperative. There is also a water faucet at dog bowl level.
